This kitchen in a 1958 Manlius, NY home was completely remodeled to accommodate today’s appliances and lifestyle. The original kitchen was designed for one cook, most likely “the lady of the house”, and not for a couple and their children who like to cook. The work area was constrained and the design was pre-dishwasher, pre-microwave oven and pre-flat screen TVs. During the 50’s and 60’s meals were served in the dining room. Flash forward to 2012, the wall separating the kitchen and dining room was replaced with a peninsula, an island includes seating for informal meals and new appliances make cooking a pleasure.
